NICK J

Nick J prides himself on making instrumentals that are different than the "normal" rap and pop heard these days. Being different = hits.

He started out his career working only with Luxury from Lux & P. However, soon after, Weezy P joined his brother to form the group. For the past 5 or 6 years, Nick J has been producing almost 100% of their songs. More recently, Lux & P have gained local attention through radio play and public performances at colleges, universities, talent shows, and bar gigs. Their first major hit produced by Nick J was "Stop Drop and Roll." They have worked with a few other major local artists such as G.B. the Flyboi and Tiggy. In October 2010 they released the song "Boiler Up" also produced by Nick J. The song is blowing up on the Purdue campus and could soon be played during football and basketball games. Currently, Lux & P are working on a mixtape with many tracks produced by Nick J.

Nick J is also teamed up with Brad Real, (local hip hop artist). Nick J produced most of Brad's songs on his first album and 99% of the songs on his second. Brad Real is constantly performing at local bars, clubs, and talent shows and has gained significant recognition in the Indianapolis hip hop community. His first single "Nowhere" featured Jon Young and J. Cash, a well known group in Orlando, Florida.

Other Nick J production includes "Let Yourself Go", "Mumble", and "Rise Above" which are all on itunes and have music videos.

More recently, Nick J has produced the single "Just Like That" by Ephect of New Method Productions. This club

song can get anyone dancing. This single has received a lot of attention and is on iTunes. Nick J has also created a remix for "Just Like That" that will be featured on his album. He will be very involved with Ephect's next project.

The music of Nick J has been featured on Indianapolis radio 96.3 with the songs

"Nowhere" by Brad Real and "Stop, Drop, and Roll" by Lux & P. The Brad Real song "Mumble" has also been played on a few other radio stations and is currently on rotation on IMC. A few of his other beats have been used as background music in commercials and promotionals on 96.3 and X103. "Nowhere" has also been playing on a hip hop radio station in Orlando, Florida and Brad Real's single "Mumble" has been featured on a station in Detroit, Michigan. Brad Real's single "Rise Above" has been featured on Indy station X103 as well as countless other rock stations around Indiana.
